Porticus: Developing Five Products for Integrian

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC— Porticos, Inc.  has been chosen as a development partner by two high-tech companies, Integrian and SAMSys Technologies.  Porticos will handle all aspects of mechanical development for existing and future products of both companies.

Integrian, Inc., located in Morrisville, NC, develops products that integrate video, voice and data for public safety, transportation and federal government organizations.  Porticos is currently developing five products for Integrian and has three additional projects scheduled in the coming months.

“Porticos has the experience and expertise to handle any mechanical challenge we face, which allows us to focus on electrical and software development,” said Kien Lao, vice president of Integrian.  “Porticos’ integration into our product development team was very smooth, which also enabled it to work directly with some of our key customers, including Fortune 100 companies, who have stringent design requirements.”

SAMSys Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Ontario, Canada, is a world-leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) hardware solutions.  Porticos has developed three products for SAMSys and will begin work on a series of next-generation products in late August 2005.  Porticos is also helping manage the testing process and supply-chain for these new products.

“Speed to market is the key to financial success,” said Jim Stiscia, engineering manager for SAMSys.  “We can’t afford multiple design iterations to meet customer requirements – Porticos gets it right the first time.”

“The services we provide, though valuable to companies of all sizes, are especially attractive to small and mid-sized companies or companies that have a high number of product introductions,” said Greg Patterson, president of Porticos.  “We are able to apply the right skill mix and the right number of resources to adjust to peaks in our customers’ demands.  Trying to accommodate those peaks with internal resources usually creates an unnecessary burden on the company’s bottom line.  Our clients have access to levels of innovation and experience that would be hard to match with permanent staff.”
