    We are expanding our Project Management team and looking for candidates with at least 5 years of industry experience developing handheld devices, benchtop equipment, wearable electronics, and much more.

    Position Overview:

    The Project Manager serves as the project interface to coordinate product development between the customer, Porticos team, and third parties. They will translate customer requirements into product requirements, develop a project schedule, provide the management team with resource requirements, manage the customer relationship, and lead a team of Porticos engineers. The role will require an understanding of the product development process, customer relationship skills, good team leadership, and the ability to manage diverse and concurrent activities. The variety of projects will require some flexibility with respect to approach and style.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Planning and tracking requirements, schedule, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Recognize and manage scope change, including cost impact and change approvals
    • Project reporting and customer communication of technical, budget, and schedule status.
    • Coordinating internal expectations to development teams (dates and deliverables).
    • Forecasting workload, or adjusting workload to accommodate resource availability.
    • Compliance with project requirements and goals.
    • Identification of project risks – technical and schedule/budget – with mitigation strategy planning.
    • High-level quality oversight of design engineering customer deliverables.
    • Coordination and prioritization of project activities.
    • Maintaining customer relationships.
    • Contribution to the generation and maintenance of electrical, firmware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering design files, documentation and testing/validation plans, as well as related technical documentation.
    • Working within a multi-discipline team in the generation and presentation of proposals for new or follow-on Projects.

    Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

    • MS Office Suite

    • Strong language skills to document and communicate all aspects of projects to customers, Porticos engineers, and suppliers.

    Qualifications: 

    • BS Engineering. Ideally Electrical Engineering, Electrical, and Computer Engineering, or Mechanical.
    • 7+ years of relevant technical product development experience.
    • Applicable experience in project leadership and/or project management.
    • Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

  • Senior Hardware Engineer - CO

    Hardware Engineer/ Senior Hardware Engineer

    • Position Overview: We’re looking for a motivated hardware engineer to help extend our core hardware capability. A Senior Hardware Design Engineer is an integral part of Porticos’ research and development team. The senior hardware design engineer uses advanced knowledge of circuitry and physics to develop new hardware designs that meet requirements set by management or by a client.
    • Responsibilities:
      • Robust performant hardware design from inception (spec, architecture, micro-architecture) to productization (validation, FPGA implementation, deployment, support).
      • Leading Electrical Hardware and/or Firmware activities on projects.
      • Mentoring and coaching other members on the hardware/firmware team.
      • Responsible for hardware development including custom PCB schematic and layout, wiring, OTS component identification, and documentation.
      • Responsible for electrical hardware and architecture, and test plans, including simulation.
      • Responsible for developing and maintaining test and diagnostics hardware and software.
      • Responsible for working directly with customers to meet required project schedules and deliverables.
      • Responsible for working with manufacturers for product launches.
      • Responsible for working alongside other disciplines as a team member in order to develop products in an efficient and collaborative manner.

      • 7+ years of industry experience is required
      • Experience in embedded systems design (microcontroller/microprocessor) and interfacing these systems to peripherals over suitable digital communication protocols. (UART/SPI/I2C/USB etc..)
      • Experience in high speed digital interface design, e.g. high speed memory (DDR2/DDR3), PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet is preferred
      • Experience with Signal Integrity simulation and analysis is an added advantage
      • Experience with FPGA design and HDL languages (i.e. VHDL, System Verilog) to model hardware behavior is an added advantage.

    Position Overview: Porticos is looking for junior-level people to work on a multi-discipline development team. A Junior Mechanical Engineer is an integral part of Porticos’ research and development team. The selected candidate will be expected to execute in a small, yet diverse, team environment through all phases of the product life cycle under the guidance and direction of a senior mechanical engineer. This includes concept development, detail design, qualification, manufacturing transition, and production support.

    Responsibilities:

    • Classical methods of engineering analysis and design
    • Design for fabrication, including machining, molding, metal-forming, extrusion, etc.
    • Generation and maintenance of CAD parts, assemblies, and drawings.
    • Computer simulation (e.g., Finite Element Analysis.)
    • Drafting and technical documentation.
    • Proficiency in Solidworks and/or Creo
    • Specific experience in product design and development
