Porticos Completes Enclosure Design Highlighting Covelight Systems’ Brand

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — Porticos, a mechanical design and product development services firm in Research Triangle Park, recently completed a new decorative bezel for a secure, rack mounted Internet appliance from Covelight Systems of Cary, NC. The innovative Web application security appliance, known as the Percept, is showcased on Covelight’s website, www.covelight.com.

Positive brand recognition is extremely important for companies like Covelight as they vie for the confidence of customers. Covelight’s goal in the mechanical design of the Percept was to stand out boldly among a sea of rack-mounted appliances in dark, corporate server rooms. Sean Ahr, Director of Engineering for Porticos, explained, “Strong, aggressive styling, complementing Covelight’s corporate identity, coupled with a large backlit nameplate will help them be recognized above other IT equipment in this environment.”

Covelight is a provider of Web application threat management and security solutions for enterprises that conduct transactions and share critical business information via Web applications. Ken Gramley, VP of Engineering and Operations for Covelight Systems, said “We wanted to brand our equipment with a design that will give it a secure look, while conveying attributes of high quality and reliability. Porticos helped us achieve these objectives.”

Jonathan DeLine, President of Porticos said of the project, “It is very exciting to work with Research Triangle Park’s up and coming companies like Covelight Systems. This project demonstrates how Porticos can provide smaller companies flexibility by giving them access to a product development organization when they need it.”
