Sensit P100 Personal Gas Monitor Designed by Porticos Inc.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- Porticos, Inc. applauds the launch of the P100 Personal Gas Monitor by Sensit Technologies. The Sensit P100 monitors are capable of measuring and warning of hazardous levels of CO, H₂S and 0₂. The instrument issues audible, visual and vibratory warnings. Other alarms are included, as well as alarm-event data logging.

Sensit Technolgies commissioned Porticos, Inc. to provide mechanical engineering, product-development, and industrial design for the P100. According to Kevin Carpenter, Chief Engineer at Porticos, “These devices are used in the harshest work environments on Earth: mines, oil-rigs, chemical plants. We started with the premise that it must be nearly indestructible, but small enough to wear on a lapel.” The resulting product boasts an IP65 rating, is exceptionally shock-resistant. The device has received US, Canadian and European approvals for use in hazardous environments.

The Sensit Technologies product-line consists of more than 20 gas sensors, optimized for a broad range of users and environments. Scott Kleppe, president of Sensit Technologies said that the P100 “is the perfect addition to our gas-sensor family. It’s our first wearable product; the smallest and, by far, the most robust.
